Fellow café-goers; welcome to The Coffee Guide 2009 Editions. Just as our caffeine addiction continually needs to be satisfied, our need to know where to find that fix continues.

 This year has seen both titles grow to include more café reviews than before. The Coffee Guide has undertaken the massive task to rate and review – not just Sydney and Melbourne cafés – but some of the best cafés in New South Wales, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory. From Bathurst to Bondi, Brunswick to Bendigo, Lorne to Lilydale and everywhere in between, there is a café to visit and coffee to enjoy.

All cafés featured have been visited anonymously on numerous occasions to ensure that an accurate representation of the café was presented and awarded our ‘Bean Rating’.

Following the response we received to last edition; we have once again published the Venue and Coffee components of our ‘Bean Rating’. Why? We aim to give you a better understanding on what makes each café special. New cafés can gauge their efforts against some long-established venues, while cafés making another appearance can see how they compare to last year’s results.

 In addition to our reviews, roaster and barista profiles, we bring you informative articles on the Slow Food movement and the resurgence of tea in our café culture.
