The Coffee Guide (TCG): What coffee do you use at work?
Toufick: Specialty Ona Coffee.

TCG: If you weren’t a barista what would you be?
Toufick: Probably a teacher because I love kids!

TCG: What’s the best thing about your job- the one thing that you really love aside from the coffee?

Toufick: The next best thing to the coffee would have to be meeting new faces every day and developing that connection through the source that brings us together…coffee.

TCG: What is your favourite music? (For work or for play).
Toufick: Chill-out tunes comprised of Indie, House or Electronica genres.

TCG: What’s your favourite food?
Toufick: I love my Chicken, because I come from the area where the best chicken is made…El Jannah.

TCG: Tell us what your best (or first) coffee experience was.
Toufick: When I had the opportunity to consume the cappuccino my Boss Sasa Sestic made when he took first place in the Nationals Barista Comp.

TCG: If you’re not drinking coffee, what is your drink of choice?
Toufick: Next best alternative are my herbal teas…peppermint takes the win!

TCG: What made you become a barista?
Toufick: My amazing fiancé, who discovered this hidden passion in me.

TCG: What food do you think is the best compliment to a really great coffee?
Toufick: Depends on the coffee, but nothing beats a latte/raisin toast combo.

TCG: How many coffees would you make in the average day?
Toufick: On average, at least 250 coffees in a standard day.

TCG: What’s the largest amount of coffees you have made in a day?
Toufick: I’ve turned over 350 coffees on a Saturday.

TCG: Does your coffee style (or how you drink it) say something about you?
Toufick: They say that black coffee drinkers are typically purist, no-nonsense individuals with a tendency to prefer the simple life…sounds like me.

TCG: What has been your favourite moment as a barista? Is there one story that only happened to you because you are a barista?
Toufick: Receiving 3rd place in the ACT Barista Comp 2012 was pretty sweet.

TCG: What is the most exciting thing happening in coffee right now for you?
Toufick: The rapid growth of love for quality coffee by the average Australian consumer…coffee genuinely makes people happy!

TCG: As a barista, what’s your next big plan?
Toufick: Next big plan is to compete in the NSW Nationals and open up an espresso bar in Sydney.

TCG: Where is your favourite place to hang out in Canberra or the ACT?
Toufick: Goodberry’s, because it’s the one thing you can’t find in Sydney. Plus…I’m addicted.
