You wouldn’t think hessian could pass as art, but at Bean Drinking it sets the scene for a serious coffee experience. Recycled coffee sacks decorate the walls, and in a more functional, albeit equally eye-catching gesture, a large bean roaster adorns the cafe’s floor. Situated next to the town green, we’re almost tempted to order our coffees and head straight for the lawn. Happily, outdoor seats and tables are plentiful, and our visit becomes something of a spectator pastime as the locals get going.

The food menu is brief, but more than made up for by the coffee menu, which includes specialty roasted blends and daily single origin options. The espresso is rich and bright, with wakening citrus flavours. By contrast, the flat white is mild and delicate, and enjoys dark chocolate undertones.

With knowledgeable staff, a coffee lab, siphon brew, gleaming Slayer espresso machine and home barista accessories to add to its repertoire, Bean Drinking is the past, and moreover the future, of serious coffee.

Had impressives shop front.. And coffee was more tahn impressive! First cup was ethiopean origin ristretto..Pulled from synesso 2 group Talking about body!! This was sensational! Very tangy and floral flavour and yet smooth taste it was true taste of spring here I come!! Second was ricoraguan ristretto pulled from slayer(alex the barista did slightly changed pressure as it passed) again the perfect body!! It had extreamy cosistant body to one he did on synesso amazing consistency! Had very south american nutty flavour almost taking me back to autumm leaves scene.. Yet this was just prelude to what I was going to get next! Also had a pour over on hario drip great control with timming and temperature i could have this with a plate of carbonara instead of a glass of wine! The real killer was milk coffee on house blend. I cant decribe best with my words but at first sip i thought someone dripped a dash of caramel.. Sensational blend just an amazing magic blend that you must try if you live in Australia!! A huge thank to Alex and the blend!!!
