With no food on offer, the emphasis here is squarely on the coffee -more particularly, on the sheer alchemy of extracting espresso from little old coffee beans.
The seating is minimal and waiting room-like, but interior-design fetishism would only distract from the coffee making, and nobody seems to mind. Instead, the space is dedicated to the refinement of magical blends that have endured numerous cuppings, sippings and whiffings.
The coffee here changes regularly, with rare single estate beans and dazzling blends on offer. My expertly prepared espresso gives off a smoky aroma, beneath which lurks a dark chocolate flavour. A rich, velvety body coats the palate, and leaves a crisp aftertaste. I follow this with a Kenyan single estate, which is all blueberry notes and an earthy finish.
Order some beans to take home -if your own alchemical skills are up to the task.

I agree with the review, I love this place. It should be cafe of the week every week.
Best coffee in Sydney. There are no equals.
User Review:
Fabulous place. I asked how they made their double short macc. “how would you like it?” was the perfect reply. And what a beauty. Short, syrupy, sweet, complex and set my lips and palate tingling. Worth the trip from Melbourne.
